Delta Hiring Update

OK...now that I've got my data and don't have to rely on my feeble memory, I need to slightly amend my previous post about DL's retirement numbers.

While they will age out 68% of the current list by 2028 (7,978 of 11,784 with data extracted early 2013), the peak annual retirement number occurs in 2022 when 851 hit the street. After 2022, the annual totals begin to get smaller but are still substantial for a good while.

And that data runs thru 2047. Fun to watch.

I'd be happy just to make it someday, I would grin ear to ear retiring from the 717, Im not greedy :-)

Just went to a job fair and had the pleasurable experience of talking to they're recruiters and pilots!

Anything Doug says trumps this, but according to her because of all the stagnation they'll consider FOs with 3-4000 SIC jet in lieu of turbine PIC.

So, Delta has their recruiters out at job fairs...with the world knocking down their door...they need to go to job fairs to find candidates ? Sorry, not trying to be confrontational, but just inquisitive. :confused2:

Frankly, I hope they ARE that hard up. But, I'd just be surprised to see that actually be the case.

Oh, by the way, here are some numbers from AA. I pulled them off another internet forum where the guy who posted them said they're off the company website. I have no reason to doubt him. In case you're from the Midwest, I'll say that one more time: I have no reason to doubt him. But it shows the difficulty of getting accurate data to make apples-to-apples comparisons between legacies. Adding USAir data can only make this picture more grim...or great...depending where you stand. Without knowing how many pilots are on the seniority list, no percentage loss can be known.

From company data…not include USAir pilots

They're certainly open. I had later sim periods so I didn't drop in because Spondivits was well into the "Dangerous Hours" where there's generally a cop sitting around for skurrrrity.

One would argue the entire "Boulevard" is like that.

Gotta love a place where the "bad", the "good" and the "OK" Waffle Houses are all within walking distance of each other.

They were at the Women in Aviation conference. They go every year, even when not hiring I am pretty sure.

Had an incredible pork chop at Manchester Arms last night. Not really interested in Spondivits this recurrent, thank you.

Exactly.

Manchester Arms is a clean, great place to eat.

I am not really sure of the appeal of Spondivits. Besides of course, it's Spondivits...which isn't saying much unless you've grown up inside the place.

The pork chops there are delicious but the sheer size of it with not enough vegetables had me not feeling well the rest of the evening.

Gave a third of mine away and still didn't quite finish it.
