Hawaii PA31 crash. 3 dead

We were flying OGG-HNL while this was happening. I *think* that they were working the pattern at OGG when we landed there and then they headed over to LNY.

Sad to hear.
 
Seems kind of odd to be working the pattern with 6 people on board. I have no inside knowledge of the crash or the events leading up to it, just saying I wouldn't have 5 passengers with me if I am just practicing takeoffs and landings.

May those that perished rest in peace and may the survivors make a full and speedy recovery.

If it was the same plane (and I have no reason to think it was other than I don't know how many PA31s would be in the same area at that time) I'd guess they were waiting for their pickup time over on LNY and killing some time doing practice approaches before they went to pick up their clients.
