Does anyone have any info on jumpseating on Vision airlines for one of their Grand Canyon tours? I heard we can, and we are allowed to bring 1 guest with us. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks!

Yes, all jumpseaters welcome. Guests im not sure about if they arent a pilot in cass.
Kind of strange post for my first one on here, but I'm a long time lurker and used the search function to find info about this topic and thought that I'd add my own experience with Vision.

They were awesome. I was in Vegas for a few days with my fiancé. I called on pretty short notice and they were super helpful with getting us on the standby list. The good tour that drops you off at the canyon and takes you back was full, but would have only cost $20/each. So we did the West Rim Tour which does not include landing anywhere--just an out-and-back. That one was FREE for both of us. Still great views of the canyon. I've seen it a lot from the flight levels, but a different experience up close. Staff was great. We cabbed it out to KVGT, but they made sure they got us on one of their shuttles back to the strip and were even going to drop us at our hotel, but we decided to walk from one of their planned drop offs.

I tipped the pilots $40. Something I've always wanted to do! Better than leaving it at the blackjack tables, which is what I did with the rest of my cash. If anyone from Vision is on here, thanks for making for a great experience. We all put up with so much crap in this industry, it's nice when we can help one another out.

When are y'all going start back hiring for the donier side??

Not sure yet but that operation has a lot of movement. I know they have had some guys leave for the regionals and are short on 228 FOs. If we hire for the 228 ill be sure to post in on here asap.

That's neat. I never considered calling to ask about jumpseat on a tour flight. Are there any interline rates if we want to buy tickets? (Would have my son with me)

My understanding was that airline employees--not just crew--are afforded this rate. And they're allowed one guest at the same rate.

How do you get that rate? Just call and ask for airline employee rates?

Probably, although im not 100% sure. I need to do a canyon tour myself! Been here 3 1/2 years and haven't been on one yet.

I called 800.256.8767. They were really helpful. Ended up listing us on their standby list and told us to call back the following day to see if there was room.
