Republic letter to Pilots

Ever see the episode of undercover boss with him? Dude has a basketball court IN his house. I have no sympathy for his inability to manage his business.

Plus, he flunked Honey Wagon!

You do realize that ALPA and ALPA PAC are two different "coffers" of sorts, yes?

I mean you can if you want to, but you can't both not contribute to a PAC and then complain how it's not representing your interests, but you'd like them to.

Plus, it's a great bully pulpit. I had a "problem" with someone on the MEC level and once I threatened to pull my PAC contributions, phones started ringing.

I think so. The are "lobbiest?" Correct?

Any ALPA PAC contributors here?

Aaaaaand I thought so.

I used to ask the same question. Then der Fuhrer started using all of my money for nonsense like fighting the Ex-Im Bank and a customs facility in Abu Dhabi. If you think the money will be spent for stuff like this instead of Captain Ahab's fight against the Middle Eastern whale, then you're kidding yourself. I still contribute to the PAC, but only because I hope that some of my money will still be left in the coffers when Ahab is gone.

How long do we have left?

Sadly, the guy who should be running national was just elected and hopefully busy fixing the mess Cap'n Ahab left behind.

I guess he couldnt fit everything on the inside of the yoke cap so felt a letter was needed.

I really have no idea why I thought of this...and the couple glasses of wine I've had this evening is probably the reason I feel the urge to share it...but here it goes.

This reminds me of a roommate I had in college. I had a poster of Jenna Jameson and Brianna Banks (porn starts for the prudes among us) that weren't wearing anything, but due to the strategic placement of hands, you couldn't see anything that couldn't be put on prime time TV.

So apparently he found my poster offensive. One day I came back from class to find it missing. I searched the room up and down and found it, so I put it back up. This continued for a while, each time I put it back up I used more and more tape...thumb tacks...poster putty...etc.

So finally the dbag leaves me a note. But not just a piece of paper. He left me a note that was written on about 20 of MY post it notes lined up across my desk. Guy couldn't just ASK me to take it down...which, if he had done I would have complied with. Instead he kept hiding it and then left me a note about it.

Ah...college.

It's just that I don't believe we would be able to raise the money needed vs the major airlines to buy the votes we need. I think they'd give it an honest go, but the ALPA Pac would need a huge groundswell of support translating to lots of dough. That seems equally unlikely.

Welp, love it or hate it, DC works on money.

If you think educated, middle-class voters with a war chest of loot can't get noticed in DC because, well, we think we can't amass enough so you don't contribute, I think you may be part of the problem rather than the ultimate solution.

I hate the idea of special interest groups and lobbyists, but that's our chosen form of governing.

Pay for training to start up again this year? Why? Because it makes no sense.
Perhaps airline sponsored?

I'm sure regionals can negotiate a deal with companies such as ameriflight to build "right seat" time. Probably cheaper deal then offering more pay across the board in the union agreements.

So does that mean I should start putting those ridiculous little circle stickers on my flight case? I've got a few.

Haha that's real funny but Korean Airlines beat you too it.
