United Pulling out of CLE

Ok, here's the latest, per United's fleet plan at the end of 2014.

25 EMB 145 aircraft are scheduled to be parked this year, 16 in Q3 and 9 in Q4. I assume most if not all of those will come from Chautauqua, the 9 EMB 135's will also be parked in Q4 of this year. The remaining EMB 120, 170, and 175, as well as all Dash 8 aircraft are scheduled to remain in service. @upup89 do you have the link to that plan to post up here?

Accepted a job at Braniff.
I thought it was Eastern.

Also:

Ironically, United's in-flight magazine for February features a 56-page insert promoting Cleveland.
United's annual shareholders' meeting is scheduled to be held in Cleveland this summer.

Have to make sure I get a copy of that, as I'm flying out of CAK

I think DTW is next on the chopping block.

You heard it here first!

I disagree with you there Derg.

Something like 20,000,000 people within a 3 hour drive of DTW and there is a good amount of O&D traffic to Asia with the automotive stuff. Inevitably the nonstop flights to those cities might as well bring connecting people from all over the east coast and midwest so I think DTW would, at worst, shrink by 10-20% in the future. Perhaps by way of up-gauging equipment, though.

That's my two cents anyway. The facility itself is nice and the location is great between so much of the country and both Europe and Asia.
