Dilemma

OK so I have offers from SkyWest, ExpressJet, Eagle and Trans States. I live in Minneapolis and would like to be based here but would consider commuting to ORD, STL, MCI, or DEN for better pay, quicker line, quicker upgrade, etc. Any suggestions?
 
I think skywest has an MSP base, go with puts you closest to home!

No chance of upgrading at your current gig?

My profile isn't current anymore. I left the Brasilia job to move home to Minnesota. I was there for 2.5 years with no pay increase and no upgrade in sight. I'm now flying King Airs doing mostly medical flights. I like the flying but the on-call crap sucks. Just sitting around waiting for the phone to ring at 2 AM.....

How much King Air PIC time do you have ? My company is hiring do you want to come back to California?
 
Skywest has the brightest outlook of that bunch. Plus a MSP base. Have you considered Compass?

I declined an interview from Compass awhile back due to unforeseen circumstances and I think they are holding it against me. Can't get anyone to get back to me.
 
I tried to push my Compass interview back and they told me they don't do that. And they wouldn't reschedule for another date. However, I have heard anecdotally about someone who did get a second shot. YMMV

Whichever you choose, just be committed to it. Remember: Today's premiere regional is bankrupt tomorrow, and today's best base is shut down tomorrow. And lately, today's best contract is a headline concessionary contract tomorrow.

Remember that hot high school girl? Well, she is now plump and on her third marriage. Remember that so-so average girl? Wow, did she ever blossom into an attractive young woman! It's kinda like that. Just love the one you choose.

I like your analogy, however lets be realistic:
It's like going home with a stripper only to realize she took her teeth out last night vs the one that you ONLY need penicillin to treat her memory.
 
If you come to trans state you could upgrade pretty quick, if you have the time. We are a little short because most of our fo can't upgrade because they don't have the time. We have a stl and iad base.
 
Is it SKW on the jet? If it's the Brasilia, you won't get east of SLC for at least a year - maybe longer depending on the vote.

If it is SKW on the jet, the answer seems pretty obvious...
 
There is no crystal ball. Go with the one that gives you what you want. You're not there for the cheese, so make the other reasons the intangibles. Close to home, best equipment, etc. If you want to be at home, go with the company that doesn't have MSP as as senior base. That will translate to you staying home and upgrading more quickly.
