Phony degree.

I was looking at instantdegrees.com, and you can get the bachelors degree for $130.

They claim it's legal, either way I'll take that with a grain of salt.

Anyway, since we all know the airlines mandating a degree regardless of major is essentially a scam, any likelihood of the phony degree slipping past the airlines? I mean, how deep do they really dig when verifying your credentials?

Think of the money you could save avoiding debt from student loans. You could put that money directly in your ratings via Part 61.

Sure go ahead.

From what I understand (at at least 1 major I know folks involved in hiring at), they have a list of "accredited universities" and even further than that, "tier-levels" of how quality those are. So they will cross-check that to begin with. Then, many airlines want to review your transcripts during the interview process. Obviously this would be a pitfall. Particularly if you get asked questions about it. Seems like a really bad idea.

A couple thoughts on this:
  1. Their website looks like an As Seen On TV infomercial. You know, the kind you see on TV at 3am.
  2. If any website or commercial has to convince you that it's legal...it's probably too good to be true.
  3. Finally, people must be a fools for actually attending school to get a law degree. I just got mine during the time it took to reheat my spaghetti.
