I've heard through two ppl that work at JetBlue that they have some issues with getting approval from the board for the positions...I have no clue if this is true or not....

Now I got word there is a March class date so maybe we should hear some news soon

I just received a thanks but no thanks email. I wasn't expecting to get a class date, I just figured I would put my app in and see what happened. I'm a 121 regional pilot trying to make a transition to the dispatch side but I only have my dispatch certificate I have not dispatched before.

They currently have a posting for Instructor Dispatch up on the website

So, it looks like they'll need to do some other hiring before getting the dispatchers in there.

So interviews should be starting soon for a class possibly late feb/early march.

Are the dispatchers a part of any union? If so what union group?

JetBlue is 100% non-union, there are no unions anywhere representing anyone there....including the pilots, if you can believe that.

Would that make someone's job security at risk ?

Not necessarily, depends on the relationship with management. There are pro's and con's to it. At least for now, it's beneficial for them to be non-union.

We have legally binding individual agreements with the company. We currently have great department leadership so things are going good.

Found out today that they haven't started yet, should be starting soon. They're also looking for a total of six dispatchers now.
