Thursday night Pizza and 9FI Meet n Greet

Okay after looking at threads from NJCs of yesteryears, I figured we could go with a 19:00 meet up at New York Pizzeria.(7:00 P.M. for non airline or military folks) Our usual pizza place is Sirrico's, but @ATN_Pilot says that New York Pizzeria is much better. I don't know if we'll all have room there, but we'll give it a shot. Does anyone know if 9FI charges a cover charge after a certain time?

One year we had a small enough group we actually ate dinner at 9FI. 2006? 2005? Can't remember.

It took a while to get pizza last time and it was a bit of a rush to get up to 9FI before the cover starts. I *think* somebody went up and told them we were coming because if I recall they let us in without paying, while they were charging other people.

If the party is big enough, they may not charge a cover. Its only a small cover anyway you cheap a$$ pilots.

Its not particularly good pizza but its not bad with a beer. Its like Sbarro.

Guys, the whole point of that pizza place was that it made a good rendezvous point as it tended to be less crowded and right next to another bar and also still close to 9FI. This made it easier to meet and interact with the rest of the folks who you've possibly never met before. Then we'd proceed into 9FI where it tends to be loud and crowded.

The food in 9FI was pretty good. IIRC we did do dinner there the first NJC I came to in 2006. That was also 7 years ago so whether it's still good is anyone's guess. The food at HB last year pretty much sucked.

All I'm saying is changing to a meetup location on a different floor in a different part of the casino may not be the wisest choice. Either way, I'll go wherever we decide to go.

Okay after reading Ed's post, I just called and spoke to the NY Pizzeria manager. I asked how busy it would be around that time. He said it's been busy all week, and he said with the amount of people we have, there wouldn't be enough room to seat everyone. Sirroco's is close to 9FI and has the seating capacity for our group.

So we'll be keeping it old school and we'll meet at Sirroco's Pizza @ 6:30.
