Miniature horses in light GA planes?

Depending how big it is, I think the challenge will be getting the thing into the airplane. That process will more than likely spook the horse and from what I know about horses, its not easy to get them to calm down. When they freak out, they really freak out. I'm all for doing crazy, random things, but Id probably pass on this project. I doubt many vets would endorse it either. What exactly would be the point of having a sedated mini horse in an airplane for a music video and when did musicians start making music videos again?

What if you're flying and even though it had drugs the horse freaks out anyway and the handler tries to sedate it with a hardcore horse blow dart right when you hit turbulence and he misses the horse and hits you?

Can you imagine if there was a ramp check? I'd KILL for THAT video, and the audio recording of the FSDO inspector explaining to his boss why he allowed the flight to continue.

"OK, so let me get this straight. You see a pilot preflighting an airplane with a photographer and horse standing next to him. Logically you inquire, and after checking the docs, you LET HIM GO!!!???"

Does your aircraft insurance policy cover this? This would be a commercial activity and very high risk (IMO). My question to you is why are you thinking of doing this?

I've done something similar with no real problems. The horse was used to driving in a car, so the plane was no real issue. It did start to act up a little when we were strapping on the parachute, so it might be best to do that before take off.

(May not actually be true.)

Nope. I'm not getting paid. I'm paying for the rental and the horse. this video is for the local rapper and comedian I've been working with for the past 2 years. The only money I'll make off this one is whatever ad revenue I get when I launch it on my site and youtube when we have everything together, so I'm fine as a PPL doing this.

Since this has gotten such a response, I'll explain a little bit.

Along with the stand-up and street comedy/prank videos I've been putting together, I've also gotten involved in the Bay Area rap game(which is a story in its own). Some signed rappers have finally agreed to give me a chance at producing and making their music videos and agreed to participate in some of our ridiculous songs/videos. Some unsigned but very talented rappers my partner works with are willing to get their start through my company. But musically, I have nothing to show yet, all these guys have seen are the funny videos we've made that still won't be released along with my site for a few months. I decided I need to show these guys I'm for real and let them in my head to show them I'll do for them what nobody would come up with. Inspiration always hits me like a ton of bricks, and when I found out a paramedic my friend works with runs a mini-horse rental company, I immediately came up with a song called "Horse Power(Mini-Horse for a day)" and went to work on planning it out. Basically its rap song about having a mini-horse for a day, a lot of witty horse related puns, and a lot of tatooed gang-banging rappers walking around the hood with a pony. I'm going to get current again right after NJC so I figured what better way to start the video then your typical "I'm a gangsta walking to a GV on a red carpet in slow-mo iced out" ramp shot, except they get out of the back of my • car and walk the red carpet decked out horse in hand to a POS 172N sitting on the ramp which then takes them to the bay for their day with the horse. The whole video is going to look dramatic and hard core with a lot of filthy language, but ultimately be about a mini-horse and the video will be cute as hell.

My style of music videos will be kinda like this one, super random and elaborate while at the same time looking serious:


All in all, this should be no big deal. The horse will only be in the air for 10-15 mins. But the intro sets the whole tune for the video and people make up their minds in the first 20 seconds or so of a video, so go hard or go home I always say. I need to raise $50k so I can go to the Hayward ATP and finish my dad gum ratings ASAP.

Dramatic, hard core, with filthy language, and "cute as hell." Have you pitched it to Nickelodeon yet?
