Firebird2XC are arguing (or should I say share differing opinions?) is the same reason that this TA passed:
Pilots are selfish. Everyone is just looking out for themselves, and not the collective career/group. Skyw82 wants the merger to proceed because it benefits him. Firebird2xc wants the merger to fail because that would benefit him (more outsourcing of mainline flying to Eagle and other subcontractors in order to facilitate "AA" growth). The PSA pilots decided that it was worth it to vote in this TA (and concessions?) because it gives them a better chance at growth, movement, and a path to the ultimate goal in this airline career: mainline.
It probably hurts the regional pilot sector as a whole, but why would they care? It helps them (or so they think), and pilots are selfish.
