So... Mesa pilots are illegal immigrants? Besides it's a just an academic point... ALL regionals have crappy pay and work rules. You are just arguing whose regional is the worse? They ALL are bad. With that being said, I'd rather enjoy the type of RJ I fly and fly one that most approximates what I'll eventually be flying at mainline. That would be the ERJ175 series.
So.... everyone of YOU, who are excited inwardly to fly RJs, but to save face and be in the cool "clique" have to publicly rebuke anyone who shows any outward excitement about the opportunity to fly RJs.
Who said I'm inwardly or exwardly excited about flying a regional jet? I don't give a rats rear end what it is. I just worry about the bacon. How much bacon? How fast can I get more bacon? And do I have enough days off to eat said bacon? You go ahead and be all giggity about flying the baby bus. I'm gonna enjoy my bacon.

I'll be the first to admit, but I'm very fortunate to be in the financial position to not have to chase the highest paycheck. I have an outside source of income that allows me to live a nice life, so the pay at the regional will be just gravy on the top. While you my be chasing the highest pay, I'm chasing the quick upgrade and the type of RJ that will be looked upon most favorably by the majors. I'd rather make a few dollars less and fly the ERJ175 than a few dollars more and fly a CR2 or ERJ145.

What people here are trying to tell you is that, and I may sound a bit dramatic, there may not be majors left in the future if airlines are allowed to pay pilots crappy pay for flying a lot of people over long distances. Think about it . . . if manufacturers keep coming up with larger airplanes but somehow they're still named "RJ", then what is going to stop the airlines from paying pilots "regional" pay and benefits instead of "majors" pay and benefits for flying bigger and larger planes? Remember, RJ planes in the past used to be 19-20 seat aircraft.
Mother Nature has given us humans the gift of a brain that can understand long-term consequences to present-day actions . . . I'd suggest you start using it or you find yourself flying for food throughout your aviation career if you know what I mean (I hope you do).
