The last few days in Boulder have been a bit soggy...

Brian's pictures show only part of the devastation caused by the flooding north & west of Denver. Days of rain on foothills de-forested by wild fires last year ===> mudslides & rockslides into narrow canyons where the roads run right along the creeks, some of which went from 2-4 feet to 16 feet in depth. Houses with 1, 3, 4, 6+ feet of water. National Guard choppers are rescuing people marooned in their house, now on an island. When the water drains, you have a foot of mud to shovel out. When the water gets to the flatlands, it spreads out, as you can see.

When I'm not being FloridaLarry, I'm ColoradoLarry, and our mountain cabin has three roads leading to the neighborhood. Right now, one is blocked by mud & rocks, one by several wash-outs, and the third takes a ten mile detour. Cabin's high and dry, as is wife in residence there, but she's getting moss growing on her north side, with more rain due today.
