Mesa to Operate E175; Extends CRJ Agreement

I think the bigger question is where are they going to find Sim time with Republic and Compass buying up everything thing they can find.

They told me at Republic that a few guys had to go to France last year for a 170 sim last minute because there were no openings anywhere closer.

I'm glad for their crews. They have been crapped on quite a bit over the years and through my interactions with them in IAD seem like a good group.

I do however wish the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotches of their management team.

I'm kind of amazed anyone was still hanging out there. I figured it'd be a jet-powered Silver Airways where there was more shrinkage there than skinny dipping in December.

somehow I have a feeling that no one will be upset by this...I'd much rather go to AMS than YUL...
My point is there really isn't any difference in savings between there and CDG, which they are avoiding like the plague for obvious reasons. Everyone seems to think the work around happy medium is the YUL sim, which seems to not be there anymore.

I keep hearing stories about it being "so busy" they "might" have to send people to France, but I've never actually met anyone that went recently. Lately the trend has been a 2+ week wait for some new hires which would suck...

Until you look at the Euro conversion rate, then look at the CBA, find out there is no per diem override, then figure they will probably schedule training after coming off the transatlantic redeye flight in coach, and then say, send me to STL!

:)

There's always Brazil.
Air Canada has a pretty big fleet of E-jets, wonder which sims they use.

I remember being 10(in 2000) and being told by a pilot "I'd warn you not to go to Mesa, but they'll be dead before you hit puberty anyway". Funny how that works.

For us, the option is now either BNE or MIA. Brisbane is actually only 4 times zones (and a direct flight) away while Miami is 6 timezones and a 2 leg trip. Per Diem is about $3 more an hour in BNE. In BNE we get priority sim times. In Miami we get what Delta doesn't want.

We are going to Miami.
