New PSA TA?

Do you know of a better way that has a guaranteed interview?

Stepping on the backs of your brothers and sisters at other regionals to get it is ok though? Right right.. whatever it takes to "feed your family" right? Interesting, another way to get an interview you ask? How about fill out an application and go in the front door? Or are you one of those with 30 PC busts and violations a mile long? Hmmmm....

Hypothetical: Your number comes up to interview at Airways and your wife just lost her job and you can't afford to live on Airways' first year pay right now. You decline the interview ... no more longevity raises is ok?

First off, the wife thing ain't happening. Secondly, I've prepared myself financially to live on low pay for quite sometime. Thirdly and most importantly, my goal is to get on with a major and I'm not going to decline an interview at a major.... EVER!

Huh? A optimistic, confident attitude is screwing the industry?

No the "I'll do whatever I can to try to get an interview while screwing over a bunch of people who actually want to make a decent wage" is what has sent the industry into the toilet.

Unfortunately this is the attitude of a lot of RJ pilots, which is why when management puts any crappy contract before their pilot group it always passes. Pilots are emotionally stupid.

I'm not here to make a decent wage at a regional. I understand what a regional is and what it's purpose is.... it's a stepping stone to the majors. I AM here to make a more than decent wage at a MAJOR. If that requires a few years of subpar wages at a regional, so be it. I don't plan on staying at the regional any longer than I have to.

Developing that attitude is bad preparation. If I were you I would just listen and learn at this point and restrain from trolling too deep.

Ok, so if I don't agree with you or the collective, I'm trolling? Is all you guys want on this forum is a bunch of "yes men" who all agree on everything?

Far from it. The thing I think gets most guys upset is your attitude of give up pay for the possibility to get an interview faster at a major carrier. There are a lot of guys here who had the same idea you do several years ago. Then age 65 passed, and then we went into the worst financial depression this country has seen in decades. Are you willing to live on 4 year FO pay 7 or 8 years into your longevity at a carrier? Maybe I'm missing something but major carriers do the same thing regional carriers do. We fly airplanes, and we are held accountable for our actions no matter how big the airplane or where we are employed (southwest exempt).

They are just naive. Don't accuse them of trying to screw others just because they haven't seen how these "scams" are misleading. How many times have these agreements worked well for a minority and left a vast majority of people without a ladder at the worst possible time? Don't punish the ignorant. EDUCATE them.

Out and Pround- while this TA looks great on paper, it is nearly akin to playing the lottery. The interview agreement is a "carrot" offered to get people, just like you onboard. Sure, you may be just fine with that, but historically, someone in your position will never get to take advantage of that agreement. Historically, it's the pilots who are currently either at that point on the list or pretty close. This works for just about anything else, including picking a Regional for pay, upgrade times, base, commute. The odds are very high that you'll be one of the last to enjoy what you seek out, if for a short time. TRUST me. I'm ever mega-positive minded and I follow your philosophy of not going with the crowd just "cuz". I will be the first to play Devil's Advocate when no one wants to rock the boat. From experience, I can tell you that this TA will likely pass. It's neither here nor there for you, though. It has been written for people who are currently PSA pilots and those who follow them will likely have to experience the side effects.
