What's the coolest thing you've done in an airplane?

oh, right...he probably should have his tickets removed...upside down is too crazy. I get it.

It is. If the pilot doesn't know what they are doing, and considering he was so excited he was upside down that he had to take a pic so he could put it on Facebook (I assume) than my guess is he probably doesn't know what he is doing.

I am not an airplane nerd so I don't know what aircraft that is, but if it is non aerobatic than he should probably fly it like the manufacturer intended.

I don't mind people doing stupid crap in airplanes as long as they don't have passengers when they become smoking holes.

Erhmahgerd, he's clearly pulling at least 1G!!! The wings are about to rip off, the engines are about to explode, and at least 3 kittens just died from me looking at that photo. Danger!
Not to mention, Ann has been set to 'dim' - poor Ann!

just to say that there was a real person, not a floozy or a person with an agenda. Just a nice person who was thrust into a situation that was way out of control. Guys who defend the actions there, either weren't there or are in denial. She was severely affected by the event, and then by the attitude of the people pissed at her for coming forward.

I only mention that because I have first hand knowledge on how this affected a nice woman...

Okay. I get it now. And I am in 100% agreement with your analysis of the post-event BS. I occasionally have the misfortune to work and travel in circles of people who look upon that kind of sexual harassment as no big deal. I don't have the benefit of perspective from the inside of the military, but it does truly seem like there is an epidemic of sexism and harassment happening to this day.

It's nothing new, it just isn't acceptable any more, and there are growing pains that go along with it. Tailhook aviation is very much a fraternity.....to this day, I know of less than a dozen women who actually fly fighter aircraft in the Navy. Of course there are more, but girls in operational squadrons right now flying jets......I can probably count them on 2 hands. Maybe double that figure for WSOs/backseaters, but either way, they are still waaaaaaaay in the minority. This is roughly 19 years after women were allowed into the ranks.....and there were basically none, aside from girls flying jets in non-operational capacities, in 1991. Some of the stuff that allegedly happened that weekend was unacceptable for any man to do, but my point is that the issue runs deeper. Fighter squadrons weren't used to having women around back then, and today, we are still only slightly more used to it. That transition takes a conscious change in interactions and everything else, but it also requires time and experience.
