Around Lake Michigan on a weekend

Fencer

Experimentalist
Did a short trip last weekend. Weather was stellar. Met two JC heavyweights.

On the way to GRR stopped at Wynkoop aerodrome for a bite and gas.

Then to KGRR. Was escorted to an undisclosed location and shown some serious hardware. No pix of that.

Lake waters like Bahamas. Chased a jet ski or two.

Race of the Dunes.

Montauk of Michigan - Woolsey 5D5.

Private runway of South Fox Island. A slice of paradise. I called the phone I yelled the radio I waived I rocked my wings shish no welcome.

Explored couple small islands with gravel runways. Some are not suitable for my experimental.

Mackinac is no VZ. Very low.

Landed on Beavers Island still no new terminal. Overnighted at Schoolcraft County there is a clean motel just across the street. $45.

Cliffs of Washington Island. Nice grass on 2P2.

Washboard of Chambers Island. Touch and GO!!!

Tried to keep up with a trike by Muskegon. Can't fly at that AOA. I need a MIG.

Will I fit?

Chicago Time! Wanna race buddy?

Skyscrapers. Airshow. TFR.

Walking around. Too lazy to talk just listen ...

A collider.

So the board is fixed?
not yet, siting in CFI class until next Thursday, then I will work it.

Great pics as always. Northern Michigan is on my list of places to explore via airplane for sure.

Great pictures, Fencer. I was just up at Woolsey Tuesday. If I knew you were doing a Michigan tour, I would of gave you the lat/longs of my Mother-in-law's airport.

Nice pics! I spent a good amount of time "up north" this summer. Sounds like it was an aweseme trip.

Meat servos are picky these days. They don't want to work 10 hours a day all low level. I had a heck of good time when you drove me from right seat to Kentucky. Let's go somewhere again.
