Grand Teton's at 13k in Cessna 150 Heavy, took 45 minutes and some thermaling to get up there from Jackson Hole (6500ft).
I remember that picture...you guys were up there man.Made it up to FL482 in a 31A...
450 in CE-560 for long stages (PA or NY to FL for example). It would get there, though slowly. Well, it's a Citation, it does everything slowly. The 560 Encore wasn't bad, still slow for cruise, but it could climb even if hot and heavy. A Cit II (550) not so much...
The C550 is kind of a slug in that way, yes; but to me, it just reminds me of a T-37 that happens to carry pax, and performs the same. So it makes for no surprises.
That is crazy for a TurboProp.. What did you true out at?410 in a Piaggio P180-II
I've no experience with a T-37, but I do agree that the Citation is a no surprise kind of airplane under normal experience. A simple and honest airplane.
Yeah...we only use it for 4 hr trips. Mach .65 ish 320tas. That is the service cieling. Usually stop at 36 or so for an hour, then go on up. Going straight there...too heavy, body angle too high, just mush along...the Avanti is real happy in the mid 30's, good mix of speed and economy. That is crazy for a TurboProp.. What did you true out at?
Is the P-180 in the coffin corner up there like the older lears are?
