Highest Flight Level?

I've had the Metro to 27.

Highest I've been in control of was 330 in a King Air 350.

Highest I've been was 410 on several 737s and one 767.

I went to 10,000 in a 152 this past spring and 11,000 in a 180 Cherokee this summer. Be amazed....be very amazed.

Grand Teton's at 13k in Cessna 150 Heavy, took 45 minutes and some thermaling to get up there from Jackson Hole (6500ft).

Made it up to FL482 in a 31A, but as usual Denver started bringing us down way before our destination.
? for lr31apilot- What is your longest flight time in the 31A?

In flight school, I took a 152 up to 13k just to see how high I could get it.

I flew a T210 up to FL220 wearing only the cannulas. I'd say I was only slightly hypoxic.

And my personal best is a Citation Ultra to 450.

Taken the PA-46 and T240 to Fl250 a bunch...but a week in a 182 without O2 in the mountains of CO was far harder!

450 in CE-560 for long stages (PA or NY to FL for example). It would get there, though slowly. Well, it's a Citation, it does everything slowly. The 560 Encore wasn't bad, still slow for cruise, but it could climb even if hot and heavy. A Cit II (550) not so much...

Soon I'll be back in a turboprop and be lucky to see 29.92 during cruise unless that IS the barometer.

The C550 is kind of a slug in that way, yes; but to me, it just reminds me of a T-37 that happens to carry pax, and performs the same. So it makes for no surprises.

I've no experience with a T-37, but I do agree that the Citation is a no surprise kind of airplane under normal experience. A simple and honest airplane.

Same kind of sluggish performance as the C550. My organization was given an offer by cessna to replace the C-IIs with C-Vs, Ultra's I believe; but since my organization steps over the $5 bill in order to pick up the penny, they declined, and instead modified the tired IIs.

That is crazy for a TurboProp.. What did you true out at?

Is the P-180 in the coffin corner up there like the older lears are?
Yeah...we only use it for 4 hr trips. Mach .65 ish 320tas. That is the service cieling. Usually stop at 36 or so for an hour, then go on up. Going straight there...too heavy, body angle too high, just mush along...the Avanti is real happy in the mid 30's, good mix of speed and economy.
