I'm genuinely surprised by some of the guys that are still hanging out out here on the west coast. I don't know what's going on in PDX or BFI, but the California bases sound dreadful these days. Makes me sad, because they're my friends and I know they could be enjoying a better QOL if they just take a chance to get out of there.
 
Well I just got the *update* email from SH and I can either delay my 9/9 chieftain pdx class date a few months or do the 9/9 BE99 class and go *somewhere*. Again they are saying that west coast pa31 people aren't wanting to upgrade.

I guess I am going *somewhere* to fly a 99 later next month then. I am guessing a NE or TX out station...am I right there?
 
It sounds good on paper lol. There were a few TX runs, and the BUF run that I remember almost always coming up available. If given the choice, go for the one with the most hours per day.

A few months? Dang, no movement up from the senior PA-31 guys then I take it. Lots of happy people in PDX and HWD. The 2 99 guys in my indoc class were the same way, they didn't know where they were going.
 
Yeah, I found out that apparently the only west coast base I could POSSIBLY be offered maybe next month would be phoenix. I think I would melt, hopefully the cape air phone call will lead to something!

For which airplane? The PA-31?

PDX sounds the same. The 2 PA-31 guys in my class going to PDX both lived there and had roots there, and didn't seem to keen on quick upgrade.
