Why no calls to interview? Is it my speeding tickets?

Like this car in the FBO today?

Why all these midget japanese machines? What's wrong with a 62 Dart Super Sport with a 413 max wedge? What's wrong with a big block Chevelle? What's wrong with an Olds Cutlass SX with a 455? If you're going all in on japanese cars, what's wrong with an early 70's 240z?
Only being able to go fast in a straight line = yawn.

oh you can turn, but you have to have technique (try it sometime lol)....set the suspension before the turn so it doesn't want to roll...stuff you would never know about with the indy-racing technology now in all cars.

Had a 260z for about two years, great little car, wish I never got rid of it :(

EXACTLY. Just take a look at every single American muscle car ever tested on Top Gear. They are all complete and utter crap in the corners. The real world has these things called "turns", and any decent car must be able to traverse these turns.

The episode with the Corvette ZR-1 vs. the Audi R8 is a perfect example. Corvette beat the R8 in the drag race, but was absolutely pathetic trying to catch up to the R8 around the track.

Have over a 1000hrs TPIC, 135 captain, ATP, excellent recommendations internal and external.
But several speeding tickets.

What is the limit of speeding tickets they allow?
How long do the tickets stay on my record?

Discuss.....

There are two kinds of people in the world: those who have gotten a speeding ticket, and those who will. No one is going to fault a guy who has gotten ticket or two. But 10 in 10 years? That's you either being a scoff law, or situationally unaware. Either way, I wouldn't want you flying my airplane.

That's a little harsh. I've been driving for 12 years and only had two speeding tickets, BUT there have been quite a few times when I've been doing 5-10 mph over in front of a cop and not gotten pulled over. I never speed intentionally, but sometimes with the flow of traffic I just quit paying attention. I suppose if most of us had our luck run out we would be sitting in the same boat as the OP. And those who commute to work are exposed to more situations where they could get pulled over for minor speeding (which we all do).

See if you can get them expunged, what's done is done my friend. I for one think it's a silly concept to judge your driving record to what kind of pilot or any profession your going in. Im a very different person at work than I am outside work. So till I fly with you, you can fly my plane any day

I agree mostly, but mashing the LOL pedal in something properly fast is soul stirring. I still prefer my euro trash OLD(new is limp wristed)BMWs though as I get more thrills going into corners WAY to fast!

Like you, there have been any number of times when by rights I could have been pulled over. But whereas you and I have averaged one ticket every 6 or 7 years, our OP has averaged one a year. So the question begs, how many times has the OP been speeding and NOT gotten caught?

YOU! You're still dangerous.... You can be my wingman any time!

Quoting because I like it that much. All this crap "can't turn...blah blah".

Seriously, who's a better driver - Juan Manuel Fangio, Senna, or the guys driving the cars today? Fangio and Senna knew how to shift and drive and control the car without star trek gimmickry.

My mind is pretty set on a 6 cyl. Z-3. I'm surprised how many great examples are available at reasonable prices. If I could steal a restored 635, I might consider that.
A Z3 is just an E30 rear suspension attached to an overweight Miata. Flying bricks are where it's at!

Yeah. And Senna wasn't using a machine with pushrods or a live axle either. There is such a thing as mechanical engineering progress. More than a few 80's German cars aren't at all 'Star Trek,' but still go around corners rather nicely.

hey I could drive my 70 Monte Carlo with a stock engine and suspension and corner, like a banshee....if I didn't set the suspension, it could either sway and rock off the road, roll and lean way out severely causing the inside to lift and spin or actually roll.

All the skill and car control in the world isn't going to help you if you're racing around in a dump truck.

To the original Op:

10 tickets in 10 years is alot. Not 2 or 3 in 10 or 15 years, but a good solid average of 1 per year. Lets be real most of us speed to some extent (myself included), but to get that many means your doing something wrong... consistently. And you haven't learned your lesson. I'd say do yourself a favor and either apply at other airlines or try and build some distance between yourself and your last ticket.

In the end public perception is all that matters to the company. Any airline is going to ask itself if this guy/gal wrecks a plane and people die how is it going to look when the press gets a hold of his driving record? risk management doesn't look at the best case scenerio, they look at the worst. The public and press will correlate an obvious bad driving record with any accident that same pilot is involved in. Sucks but true.

They really want more of the "David Souder" than they do "Clarence Thomas".

Well, for the most part.

So the powers-that-be can save the "Well, my uncle shot a hooker and bounced a check to the dopeman and is flying a sweet sweet A380" story.
