Regional compairsons

I was asked by a lurker so il ask the group.

Anyone put together a table comparing regionals?

Thinks like
Hot RVS or not
Short call out
Long call out
Commute clause

I know I'm missing a lot, figure someone would have done it. I understand apply all, apply often but thought I would ask.

Also what is the website to set all data in for them to see. I think you have to pay to big do for each company and something about it taking hours to input.

Thanks on advance.

Unfortunately, I do not have such a table. I do, however, have the time to answer any questions your lurker friend may have about ASA/XJT. Have him/her drop me a line.

Good lord that would take a while for your lurker friend. The ASA guys have a great contract. Pinnacle has some pay left over from our old contract and that really helps the junior guys but if you are looking for QOL ASA is probably a great place or Eagle.

I wouldn't want your buddy at Gojet but honestly they and Republic and probably Mesa and Silver are going to be the best growth companies out there. Colgan drove me to drink after Pinnacle came in and the beatings started so just remember a good company can go south quick without a contract. Skywest is supposedly great pay and QOL but their pay will be short circuited in a few years.

I know I'm rambling a little but what regional to go to is a tough question. If I had to start over again I'd probably shoot for Compass then Skywest. I love having a union but if it were Skywest vs Gojet I'd go the place that historically treats employees like adults.

Another thing to consider is the future of some of these regionals. I know it's impossible to predict the future, but you have to try and think about it. For example, what is going to happen with Eagle or AWAC? It almost seems like a lose, lose scenario. You try to do the right thing and go to the place that has the best pay, QOL, and outlook, but it's all a compromise.

So I have offers from Eagle and Republic, I live in Miami. Eagle offers everything but stability, Republic offers ONLY stability.

What would you do if you were in my shoes??

ALPA has extensive comparisons with the data your friend is looking for, but it is propertary to ALPA carriers or you can buy it for a couple hundred thousand dollars.

Like you said, apply, apply, apply.

How old are you? I might take a chance on Eagle if I were under 30, probably republic if older than 30 just because it's probably going to be stable until you can find a good airline to be a street captain at, or any airline really. can you pay your bills at either on reserve?

Coming on 33. I can't afford reserve on Republic for more then a year, but I was told by friends that that's not going to be the case. I also have an interview with xjet coming, but I'm not sure if there's a point. If I commute, I rather go to Republic due to a possible faster upgrade.

Am I thinking right?

Just how fast are these Republic upgrades supposed to be? According to APC, the most recent Captain dates of hire are:

Junior E170/E175 captain hired: May 2007
Junior EMB captain hired: Aug 2007
Junior Q400 captain hired: Oct 2007

Unless these are wildly inaccurate, that doesn't seem much faster than a place like SkyWest or ExpressJet. Are we assuming continued growth at RAH?

I'm clearly missing something here, so let me know.

5 years or so seems to be the norm there. Maybe the Q has better odds of being a quicker upgrade. I like how the APC payscale for FO pay stops at 4 years. Surely that must mean the upgrade time is under 4 years ;)

If growth is assumed at RAH, that also assumes they will be able to staff the growth. Right now they have several Q's sitting on the ground...
