It's a major... But that salary is laughable. Most regionals pay more than that to start... Anyone know the top out?

While the salary is low, I do believe they are able to receive certain bonuses up to $14,000 or $17,000 annually. Top-out is in around $80k I think.

Their scale just got a nice overall bump as well, but yeah the starting pay looks pretty bad. Nice, new SOC being built for them as well.

There's gotta be something wrong with that. 5 years experience required and you're rewarded for it by being paid $26K? Fort Worth ain't New York to be sure, but it's not Three Tooth, AR either, so finding a $350/mo rent is gonna be tough impossible. You'd think if the pay was enhanced with an incentive worth over half of what your base earnings are they would, you know, throw that in the job description...or something?

Seriously, if mainline is starting at $26K, what the heck is Eagle's start out at? I don't as a rule rant about things that don't involve me, but geez, this is just stunning. I made dangerously close to that much on unemployment.

The first year rate at AA is a training rate which is 79% of the normal dispatch rate. You have 18 months to get signed off domestically. If you get signed off sooner, you get bumped up in pay to about 2700/month. Year 2 pay is 3500/month. Plus you have the fuel bonus. The fuel bonus totals about 16K per year. They have gotten it every quarter since the union agreement.

Schedule is 6 on 3 off 6 on 3 off 6 on 6 off rotating shifts of AM/PM/Midnights regardless of seniority. International desks go junior since they are more work than domestic desks.

Eagle starts at 14.37/hr.

In 2015, AA by contract is supposed to get the average payscale of Delta, UAL, CAL, USAirways. With UAL/CAL merger and US Airways joining American, they average of Delta and UAL should raise the scale. There is talk of management trying to get around that part of the contract though.

I don't mean to hijack the subject but can someone tell me where AA and AE SOCs are located exactly? Also, what is the trend of AE dispatchers making the jump to AA? Is that considered internal hire?

I was actually glad to see that they allowed educational experience to count for work experience.

AA SOC and Eagle SOC are both in the same building near Flight Academy at DFW. AA is second floor and Eagle is right below on the first floor.

AA and AE have a hiring agreement to take only a certain number from AE so AE doesnt lose too much staffing too fast. However, there are a lot of ex-Eagle guys in FOS control who are internals at AA. Not sure who is going to apply. Mainly junior dispatchers at Eagle apply for AA but this time with all the uncertainty there may be some more of the old guys that apply. 70% of Eagle has 15 years experience or more. Most Eagle dispatchers never made the jump to AA until a few years ago when junior people started to go.

With everything at AA, if they want you they will hire you. AA gets what they want so to say. If AA wants more Eagle guys, they will take more even with the hiring agreement.
