...both survive. Awesome :)

That's an old ejection seat I believe. I had total confidence in the Mk14 in the Goshawk, not one fatality yet while using it in the Goshawk...post ejection yes but not due to the ejection. We lost 4 Goshawks while I was in Kingsville, two were straight and level but two were OCF. Only injuries were glass from the canopy and sore backs, both minor.

We had a guy take a flock of birds down the intake last week.......saw the motor on a stand the next day, and the first stage of fans/stators was absolutely trashed. Like super mangled, and that was a real combat motor, not some little T-38 or T-45 motor.

Was that article written by a 5 year old? Even knowing what he/she was talking about I had to re-read it a few times to understand what the hell he/she was trying to say. That was worse than "partisan-speak..."

Glad they made it out.

I'm curious to know how the Navy categorizes partial ejection sequences.

I think if the T-45 motor took a large beetle down the intake, it might very well flame out...

Old S-3 guy here, other than the casual description of the KA-6 partial ejection case, I'm not familiar with that term.

Yeah, same same (not the S-3 part :) )

I think the T-45 might flame out at even just the sight of a beetle. What an awful motor that thing was.......and that isn't even getting into the sharting of LP turbine blades, or compressor stalls from jerking the stick too much at "high alpha". Thanks Rolls Royce

Glad both are ok

We had one at Meridian. 2005. Pilot ejected late, or something went amiss in the sequence. Made it 1/3 out of the jet before impact.

If that is the one I'm thinking of (and I think it is), I wouldn't really call that a partial ejection (at least in the way I think of the term).....he ejected into the ground when the jet rolled/departed at 600' AGL. So well outside of the envelope unfortunately.
