AA Airbus A319

No idea if it's true or not but someone told me that the cost was pretty much neutral as they were being done as they come in for heavy checks which involves stripping the paint down and repainting anyway regardless of they keep the same paint or change it. Could've been complete crap though.

I guess I am missing something.....what is up with the German flag on the tail and foreign registration on an AA plane?

My guess is it's still with the Airbus factory and has not been transferred to a U.S. registration yet.

American didn't use paint.

I'll be the one to say it.

The polished American Airlines lanes with the AA on the tail were iconic and I say shame on whoever decided this was a good idea.

My first time in a plane was an American Airlines 707. That was back when they gave you real metal wings and playing cards. The Captain sat me in his seat and sealed my fate.

So yeah. EFF the new look. It sucks!!

Psst....They'd have to paint the Airbus anyway.....

Id blame the aircraft engineers for creating composite materials ;) . AA didnt really have much of a choice. I agree they could have come up with something MUCH better. Either way, the polished metal look was going bye bye the day they ordered the 787 and A319.

And here it is. I like the German flag on the tail. All in all, it doesnt look that bad.

I think it looks like complete dog• personally... COuld they seriously not plan it any better than to have a window directly in the middle of their new "flight logo"?

I'm sure that this has been hashed over and over already, but I'm pretty surprised that the designer didn't actually use the 13 stripes. The "eagle" is okay, I guess, but I agree with jwp_145 - the implementation of the design on the actual airframe is pretty crappy.
