Tonight.....

I actually read the thread title in Jeremy Clarkson's voice, even before I knew it was about Top Gear. :D

I nominate myself for the Clarkson position. I'll be needing some stilts, though. :/

Gulley seems like an obvious Richard Hammond clone.

And I think Waco, as the most curmudgeonly (and ambiguously gay) man alive, is a shoe-in for the James May spot?

Let's see some other nominations and have a poll, shall we, old boys, what hmm?

Um who to the what now?

Normally I like to think of myself as very a reasonable, rational and even polite person. And you seem like a rational person as well. but you as Clarkson? Oh hell no Homey don't play that. I would be a better Clarkson. Why? Um... Save it for PMs.

The Hamster from what I understand is well read educated sane and reasonable. Gully is one of the most sane reasonable members here so why not.

Since James May is um... Well let's pull an APC regular whom we might play nice with and leave it at that.

The Africa special in some ways showed me they still got it but the polar special was really my last, this is awesome moment. Sadly the bbc budget cuts have culled some of the mystique a little but they are doing pretty well with what they are given.

Great F1 weekend, and Top Gear! Just awesome! I thoroughly enjoyed the episode. Can't wait to add season 20 to the other 19!

It is gonna be a sad day in history when Jeremy decides to retire.

The day any one of them retires is the day I turn off Top Gear.

Let's see some other nominations and have a poll, shall we, old boys, what hmm?

Since there's bickering about the Jeremy, James and Richard position, I'll just go ahead and nominate myself for Stig :D

Also, spoiler alert!!!

I absolutely loved when Brian Johnson showed up again! Freakin love that guy!

I'll be the stig! I'm as skinny as the stig at least! My driving credentials include beating subarus and civics in an oldsmobile cutlass ciera at an auto-cross.

I'm somewhat confused, I've been under the impression that the new season wasn't starting until July 8th? That's even what the BBC website says  I'm pissed that I missed it!!

Great F1 weekend

The Vettel part at the end reminded me...

British F1 fans are the biggest • fans in sports history. ;)

All 3 are entertaining in their own right, but I definitely identify most with James May. Although, Hammond usually picks the car I would pick for their big challenges. But I've watched all of James May's other BBC programs and he's definitely my kind of people.

Have you really seen ALL his other programs? How did you sit through such highlights as Man Lab's 'How to wire a plug (incorrectly)'? I doubt a consumer good has been sold without a plug already attached in 20 years in the UK. I bet most Americans have no idea why an appliance would ever be sold without one!

I wonder about 'Toy Stories' as well, with Airfix, Meccano and Hornby? How does this stuff translate for someone who didn't grow up with it?

Tonight...
Richard wears a blue hat,
James wears a different hat,
and I wear a hat with things on it.

Yeah, Man Lab and Toy Stories aren't exactly riveting, but I still watched all of them and enjoyed myself. The fact that his shows aren't screaming in your face as if you have ADD (like so much other crap on TV these days) makes it more appealing to me. Clarkson is great in his own right, but even his shtick gets played out. There's a consistency to James May across all of the programs that makes him [seem] refreshingly real. And that's why I will watch anything he puts his name on.

And James and Oz Drink to Britain was a masterpiece if you haven't seen it yet.
