Late April landed there for cheap fuel. Do you know the story with Be-103 there? It's sitting on the same spot for three+ years.

Gotcha. You know, I feel bad, I meant to ask for you but I have not been there that much. I'll be flying their Arrow soon with the GM so I'll get the skinny for you.

WOW. I think some of the chieftains I've flown were pretty nice, but this totally takes the cake. How do you like the digital engine gauges? Are they easier to use? I've flown larger aircraft that were designed with them but never something like that where it was converted. I like the fabric autopilot hole!

I like it a lot. It's like having HAL monitoring everything. There have been a few glitches. The most lingering one is the left main fuel gauge likes to stick on 'full'. It's still way better than the old analog stuff. It also has a built-in fuel totalizer that tracks fuel down to the molecule.

That's great! Is it a colemill conversion?

No, not yet. We're doing it piecemeal since we've got relatively low-time engines that aren't ready to go yet. Paint & interior about 8 years ago, the panel last year (By Mike Jones Aircraft, who does Colemill conversions), next will be the inner gear door removal STC, and maybe winglets. I'm not totally sold on the winglets yet.

I've flown a colemill one and lots of time in regular ones. I don't like the sound the 4-blade props make. Its just weird. Personal preference though. We had problems with our winglets and removed them. They had vibration problems and would crack. Happened more than once. I'm not sure if they've fixed this issue. They also didn't add anything noticable in any regard. I don't know much about the inner gear door removal, what does that do for you?

It just deletes the inner gear doors and replaces it with a fixed piece. http://mikejonesaircraft.com/geardoor.htm
