mmmmmm wine
I deleted the yahoo off of my FB page a while ago, but people still share links from his page, or his ridiculous posts as humor for the rest of the world. This really takes the cake. Reading his posts about little kids wanting an autograph, and him being shocked that they wouldn't pay for it. He deletes people from his page who don't do what he says, in fact here is the post associated with the link he posted:

This is from Mrs. Yeager: General Yeager has asked for your help and sign up onwww.veteransamicus.com by midnight. Less than 100 of you have done so. There are those waiting to be fb friends who have signed up. We will soon be editing his fb friends list accordingly. If you feel you cannot, send a private message as to why. What is a friend if not someone who supports you when you are trying to ask the US Supreme Court to uphold your and every citizen's Constitutional rights?

Why do we still give this nutjob the time of day?

Friend him on FB and see the insanity right in front of your eyes. He clearly says he will delete you if you don't follow him like he is some godly figure. Most of his posts are loaded with "if you don't agree, you will be deleted" or "if you don't do this, you will be deleted." It got so pathetic I told him off and blocked him. War hero or not, aviation pioneer or not, the man should never be put in any limelight for the way he acts.

Remember the conversations we'd have about how you can be a good pilot and loads of hours, but you don't belong in a crew environment?

You know the "Billy's got a millionty hours but United called Johnny instead and Billy's angry because he has more experience!"?

Well for the obvious reasons if you are an aviator. But when you see the real him, it makes you sick to your stomach.

I guess everything I've come to know of him makes me think he's a world class prick, so I just have never had any interest in him. I could care less that he happened to be in the right place at the right time to make history. Many times, those things have nothing at all to do with the person.

You are absolutely correct. He didn't do anything extraordinary when he broke the sound barrier, he was just the pilot in the seat at the time. He is a first class prick and nothing more.

What the deuce...

Hes gonna need to spend about $15,000 on an online reputation management campaign if he keeps this up.

I flew with a guy that had him as a passenger, said after they landed Yeager told him off because his altitude was +/-100ft. He was using his altimeter watch inside of a pressurized airplane. Wouldn't have believed it except I trust the guy who told me and it correlates with other stories I've read.

Also when I was about 17, I read his biography because I didn't know better, thought he's completely full of himself after I got done with it.
