I don't think that would save you. They hide where people sleep and come out when the lights are off.

The most important lesson I learned from this experience was how "brazen" the bedbugs were. I'd been conditioned to believe that they were very hard to spot, yet these were right out in the open and even after I had turned on all the lights they just sat there and didn't try to run away...

I still believe that if I hadn't seen/killed the one in the bathroom I would have gone to sleep and got bitten...

I'm not sure what the moral of the story is other than keep your suitcase on a metal stand and pay attention... LOL!

Thankfully the one bedbug was in the bathroom for me to see, otherwise I would have crawled into bed and gone to sleep and the story would be much different...

140 will kill them, but your dryer gets to that on high so your good!
 
Well, I wouldn't create a separate thread for this, but I did get bitten by bedbugs at the Fairfield ATL North a couple of days ago while working a standup. Called the front desk, who offered to have me switch rooms immediately, but it woldn't have made sense since I only had 2 hours left before van time. I just took photos, showered, got dressed, checked out immediately, and waited in the lobby for over an hour. I also called Crew Support to inform them.

Once I got home I immediately placed everything in the laundry on hot (even though colors are supposed to be washed warm or cold) and my bag is quarantined until sprayed. The manager called me later on to apologize, but said she found no evidence of bedbugs. No worries, as I sent her my photos. That shut her up quickly.
