PlaneSense

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread. Does anyone have an information on hiring at PlaneSense in New Hampshire? I see they are hiring FO's but require 1200 TT. Is this normal for a SIC on a plane that does not require two pilots? Is anyone getting in with less?

I believe it IS a required crew-member, for them. And from what I know, not flexible. I'm interested in them as well; the pros seem to be it's turbine time, a crew environment, and solid schedule (8 on, 6 off) And probably some interesting or unusual flying (destinations, etc) And relatively quick upgrade to be able to get turbine PIC.
Cons would be mostly that although it's turbine, it's a single-engine turbine....

Good to know. I have another 200 TT till I can apply I guess. Seems like a great place to work.

I've had my app in since I cross over the 1200 threshold and I can't buy a phone call from them. I'm thinking internal recs help a good bit.

They are running an April and May class, not sure if they are full yet. 1200tt, no ATP written required. Classes are a good mix of experience from 1200hr CFI's to ex military and airline pilots.

There's a couple people that work for PS on the boards here. I'll see if I can locate at least one to chime in... In the meantime, do a search on here, and also over on APC.

Jimmy_Norton . You still working for Planesense? Care to update us uninformed folks of the status over there? I know last I PM'd you we talked about they had just changed the days off rules...

Can I chime in and bump this? I'm planning on applying in a few months time. Anyone know if fall classes are planned?

I think they are planning on fall classes. They typically hire in the fall/spring, and not in the summer months since it is so busy. But it all depends on attrition. Pay is 30K to start for FO's with a bump to 34K after 6 months with satisfactory performance.

annual pay raises just like any other flying gig, 30/year start, then ~36/year 2nd year, $2/hr tax-free per diem, 8on/6off.

I used to work there, good company with solid airframe growth, decent pilot group (except for a few IP's that think they're flying the shuttle). Management mostly listens to the pilots concerns, nice hotels, rental car almost every night, great entry level corporate gig, and the crew flying prepares you well for future cockpits. Piece of advice, single-engine turbine time will not open any doors for you when insurance requirements come into play. Don't stay longer then the time required to upgrade +6 months, anyone there more then ~5 years will agree.

AMF has CASS. Your company just has to be willing to make CASS happen.

Also helps to actually have a jump seat in the aircraft as well.
Maybe I should have said scheduled carrier instead of 121.

We have CASS as well. What also helps is being able to reciprocate and also have some kind of a schedule so people have an idea where you're going. I doubt PS could get an jumpseater on board if they had clients on, empty seats or not.

I believe CASS also requires having at least one aircraft over 12,500. There is one large 135 carrier in AK that doesn't have CASS because their largest airplane is a B200.
