Buddy and I rented a 172 out of KMYF and flew to Catalina. Great burgers and cookies up there.

Yeah, everything was voice over there. We don't quite have full CPDLC yet on the 767 (and definitely no ADS), but being able to pick up the oceanic was nice. Frankly, it's all so new to me that I really don't know yet what it's capable of fully.
Actually, what made me do a little happy dance was the *bing* and having the ETOPS weather update just show up out of the blue. At the last gig we used to have to call dispatch over the Satcom (and god help you if that wasn't working!) to get our own updates.

If you cross with new york, your tower clearance is now your oceanic route clearance. Radar will just give you a mach number and an altitude before leaving vhf coverage.
It's a wonderful thing in summer...looking forward to it!but what about the pool?
