ATP for CFI renewwal

Fellas,

My CFI is up this fall. I'm planning on getting my ATP in August. Will the ATP checkride suffice for renewing my CFI cert?

As far as I know...No it will not. Same reason why a CFI checkout doesn't count as a Flight Review, it's considered a different certificate.

then again, I haven't had .1 of dual given in over 3 years...
 
No. The ATP is for your pilot's certificate, which doesn't affect anything on your instructor's certificate. It will count as a flight review, though.
 
Nope. In order for it to count, you would have to take a ride on your CFI certificate, which an ATP ride is not. Looks like you'll have to sit through a boring FIRC.

CFI renewal counts towards the 1 hr ground for you BFR.
