Silver Airways named Regional Airline of the year by ATW

Silver spends most of their time flying to beachy locations? Whats not to like?. Who's happier? The dude flying from ORD to GRB in February or the dude flying from TPA to Key West? Just sayin ;)

On a side note. ATW is aware that it is only February right?

Remember the dudes flying from PKB to CLE though ;)

I hope I'm not the only JC'er surprised to learn this? I've read tons of menure (dodo/crap) bashing on that company on here. Let's here your thoughts folks....

"Silver Airways is ATW’s 2013 Regional Airline of the Year; it will receive the award at a gala dinner on March 26 in Washington, DC."

If anyone finds, or know more details please post.;)Thanks

Silver employees will have to pay to attend the dinner.

I hear that despite the low hourly they have trip and duty rigs so the pilots can easily hit 90 credit hours/month. Give it a few year til the pilot group starts hanging around and getting expensive, things will get interesting.

This represents and incredible turnaround and shows that things can and do get better.

Silver is obviously doing a lot of things right.

90 is very easy here. And due to it being the old Gulfstream, there are a good amount of 10+ year lifers. You've either been here 5+ years or around a year. There isn't much of an in between and they seem to be doing fine.

So of all the regionals in the world..... Silver Airways? Seems shocking and out there.

Would love to know what goes on in determining this honor.

Lowest paid? This is the biggest who cares token award available and it has never made any sense.

What I find interesting is how despite having been around forever, great mistakes has never won this prestigious award.

I worked for a regional that attempted, disasterously, to sell tickets to its own Christmas party.
I work for a company that sold tickets to the company Christmas party, then proceeded to cancel it. From what I hear the company didnt want to give the money back.
