I think they do. She'll give out a clearance, and then all of the sudden a different controller will clear a plane for takeoff.It's not that they combined freqs. That's just how busy clearance is. She sounded incredibly insecure during the first 30 minutes or so of that session. Must be pretty new. Now, very calm and collected...
I know they brough in cpc's from other facilities to some of the new orleans facilities to run clearance and flight data for the SB
The NetJets flight going to Thermal was driving me nuts. Seemed like every 5 seconds he was asking for clearance. I'm pretty sure they heard you the first 10392 times. It was fun to hear though. Someone tweeted a pic of the ramp at NEW it looked like a biz jet convention.

Speaking of airships, I saw the MetLife blimp over Palm Springs this afternoon - I suspect coming from the golf tounament in Phoenix. Seemed like they were getting rocked pretty good. +/- 10 degees of pitch change. Didn't look like fun.
