Midair at Easterwood this morning. KCLL

I had a wheel fall of on my (instructor) side one time and it was the students very first flight. She was really nervous about flying to begin with so I just took the controls and told her I was gonna go in to demonstrate a landing (she didn't know the wheel was missing). Landing was actually a non event but she never returned.

Makes me want a checkout in that plane so I can boast about flying the only 152 with an air-to-air kill.

Glad everyone walked away, nice landing in the Cessna.

We had one at riddle that had a confirmed kill, but everyone survived.

From the article:
..."the Federal Aviation Administration says the club plane's right front tire smashed through the windshield of a single engine plane"

What??

That is an incredible amount of bad luck. Almost as unlucky as the salmon that got caught by the hawk, managed to wiggle free, then free fall to the water below....

am i the only one that might have some questions about what might have actually happened here?

Oh cotter pins...

Hey! It's all ball bearings nowadays. Now you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads. And I'm gonna need 'bout ten quarts of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone. No, no make that Quaker State.

I was questioning the "right front tire" reference. Does this imply there is a rear tire?

The Cirrus overtook the 152 and struck them from below/behind. There are no parts falling from the sky striking random aircraft.
