iPad mounting in a 172

What are some of the options for mounting an iPad in the cockpit of the mighty 172? I'm not sure I'd have enough clearance between the yoke and the iPad if I used a kneeboard, and a yoke mount seems like it would block too much of the panel. Am I correct with those assumptions? I'm thinking a suction cup mount on the windshield just ahead of the A pillars might work well.

Saw a great idea this weekend that I plan on using on mine... One of the guys I know put a non-slip material sticker on the back of his. Sorta like the pile side of Velcro, but shorter. He says he keeps it from slipping off his thigh when it's placed there, but easily removed to be stowed between the seats.

suction cup mount. Find one for automobile use. My instructor told me this, a popsicle stick costs 10 cents, a medical approved tongue depressor costs $10 an FAA approved tongue depressor....$100

Depending on your seat position, you should have enough room for the iPad on your lap on a kneeboard. I've done it in everything from the 172 to Bonanzas.

IMO, the simpler the kneeboard the better. I like the iPro Aviator (http://www.forpilotsonly.com) for the half-height writing desk and the MyClip (http://tietco.com/board.php) for pure simplicity. I use the iPro myself but only sometimes. Usually, the naked iPad in its Smartcover is enough, especially since I lake switching between portrait and landscape modes.

I use a yoke mount and mounted it on the right side.
