Ameriflight

Hey, I'm about to interview with Ameriflight, and I already know they want to put people up in PDX on the Navajo. I was just curious how long it would take to get SLC. I live there and that would make life infinitely easier. Is SLC pretty senior? I do know that it's an all turbine base.

Depending on your times, they might hire you directly into a 99 in SLC. They need people, tell them what you want.

Dumb question time - how do you get in and out of the cockpit of the AMF 31s and 99s? I've never really gotten to see either up close, but pictures I have seen show a huge openable door/window on both which has me thinking you use because after you load it you can't get through the back through a rear door like most planes this size.

The Chieftains door lets out on the wing and you can crawl down the front of the wing or on the back is a step and handle to get up onto the wing.

The B99 has a crew door with a removable ladder that lets out next to the left engine. If there is no cargo in the back you can exit the aircraft through a crew door back to the airstairs or cargo door.

Looks like it just came out of the paintshop. I don't think the entire fleet in PDX had that much paint on it.

I was actually surprised at how nice it looked too. But you have all lowered my expectations of paint quality back down to more realistic levels

Most of Amflights planes have a nice paint job, and are even cleaned at least each spring. They look clean from afar, just be careful when ducking underneath to inspect anything. Your white shirt......not so white anymore.

Yeah, there's one in Omaha that is absolutely caked everywhere! I'm convinced the engines constantly sweat oil! :)
