and the act is called circus of machines, normally involving the members of a stunt riding team, filmed in a practice session, as I understand it, she wasn't supposed to be there, the atv was, as they feature a number of high speed passes...

I hadn't heard of him before but his other youtube videos are AWESOME.
 
Yeah, practice sessions include lots of similar stunts, but planned.

I don't see how this plays out well for anybody involve though. Sadly, the cellphone video only captures a small portion of what was going on, leading up to the video.

Now that it's gone viral on inside edition, it's likely to be a real mess
 
I don't really think it's a good idea for an airshow either. It's supposed to be exciting because somebody did something awesome with a plane and it looked dangerous. You can't just make it as dangerous as possible and call it an airshow.

He wasn't abnormally close to the ATV rider. He takes a crossing line to present level wings through the maneuver. Unfortunately, that put her right under the nose of the Pitts. Any show acts involves a fair amount of danger, but it is usually controlled. When you add variables like wandering noon participants.

Of course I have no idea why she was out there though.

Because there were none. This was practice for an airshow. The ATV rider was a participant. Like TUCKnTRUCK said the Pitts took a diagonal line towards him that would intentionally miss him (but appear head on from the side where the crowd would be). Unfortunately shrieking lady was standing right in the middle of that line. This is sad. This thread turned from "omg wtf lol" to "oooooohhh... that sucks." He looks like a really good airshow performer but I can't see this ending well for anybody.
 
I just hope Jason can explain his way out of this one. Since now the FAA is involved. This is now the time where you hope all the ducks were in a row before this video was taken, like the airspace being waivered, and the box hot. If it wasn't it will look very bad for him. He is a cool guy too and a great pilot too.
