Strange Outcome to CFI-Initial

Unfortunately, even if the FAA investigated this guy, yanked his examining authority, and you took the ride with the FSDO and passed on the first time, there's no way to get this off your record. Until a couple years ago, no one would have cared, but in recent years, especially with regard to the regional airlines, busted checkrides aren't the best thing, as the airlines view it as a potential liability and media fiasco.

Since you're already almost done with the rating, I'd say that you have more to lose by going to another examiner now (by risking failing things that you already successfully completed the last time around), so I would just suck it up, finish the rating, and move on.

the last post was from February 2012...so just 10 month . On other Websites there is a big Note like "post is older than... " on top of the page. Might help

Examiner told one of my students they can only have a 80% pass rate. Sounds like your day was on a 20% day.

I'm willing to bet that is an old wives tale. I'm sure the 20% or so fail rate comes by itself if an examiner is conducting the exam per the PTS.

Most of his checkrides are at a aviation college. Said it was hard to fail many applicants because they do a really good job.
