Awesome ATIS

Wait until the controller finds out what his trainee did.

I did use information noel once on Christmas day. When the 3rd or 4th pilot checked in with noel I heard; "Someone check the ATIS!"

That guy had no sense of humor.

Scrooge.

I always apreciated the controllers who could have a laugh.

I don't think it was a trainee. Tower, approach, ground and clearance were all combined.

Not an atis, but I saw "gobble gobble" at the end of a metar once on Thanksgiving.
I was sitting in ops on Thanksgiving doing nothing and got bombarded with turkey noises over the radio. Had quite the back and forth when I found some turkey sound effects.

On Christmas Eve 2001, I was flying Operation NOBLE EAGLE (that was the post 9/11 CAPs over the big US cities) over the mall at Washington, DC.

The Washington Center controller called me frequently to ask if I had any sightings of reindeer and a sleigh.

The best holiday comment I heard was on 3rd July in Eugene. Tower was sending everyone off with 'Happy 4th!'. My English accent earned me a 'Er....... Have a good weekend'. Made me chuckle.. Very quick witted controller..
That's hilarious, you should have replied, "To the Colonies."
