Negotiating Committee Update [toc]
Early Monday morning, the Negotiating Committee and the company reached a tentative agreement (TA). We are in the process of cleaning up the details and creating final language.

Both sides convened in the ALPA D.C. offices Monday December 10th to begin the round-the-clock bargaining that was necessary to reach an agreement that provides significant cost savings, while at the same time preserving a future for Pinnacle pilots. Senior management from Delta Air Lines was also participating in the discussions. Representatives from Delta worked closely with our management team to facilitate discussions and provide guidance on key questions to airline fleet, and career progression opportunities for our pilots.

Your entire MEC was in Washington to guide the negotiators through the final phase of negotiations. The MEC has received a thorough briefing on the TA, had discussions throughout the day and will continue as final language is completed. Once final language is complete, the MEC will begin their deliberations on the TA. Should the MEC approve the TA, we will begin roadshows as soon as possible – perhaps as early as later this week.

With this agreement, Pinnacle's long-term fleet plan has been established at 81 CRJ-900 aircraft. The 40 additional CRJ-900 aircraft will start delivery in fall 2013, and all will be in service by the end of 2014. As part of the long-term fleet plan, Pinnacle will remove its 140 CRJ-200 aircraft from the fleet starting in summer of 2013, with the largest number leaving at the end of 2014 or early 2015. The schedule is designed to avoid incurring extensive scheduled engine maintenance events prior to each aircraft leaving the fleet.

Due to the liquidity issues facing our company, we will need to complete all roadshows and balloting on the new agreement by January 15th. We intend to get all information out to every Pinnacle pilot as soon as possible so that you can begin to process the information on this important future decision.

We appreciate the support of all Pinnacle pilots throughout this year-long ordeal. Please know that difficult decisions were made throughout this process and our goal has always been to represent the needs of our pilots.

So Pinnacle from here on out will have 81 -900s and thats it? So a net loss of 100 airframes? Wow, good luck to all my friends over at Pinnacle. I wish you guys the best.

At least its a wind down, and not a sudden drop. Hopefully the amount of guys leaving will mitigate furloughs. Guess we'll have to just wait and see.

Look forward to seeing the details. So this will make them an all -900 airline? Best of luck guys and gals.

I guess that's one way to look at it. So at 81 airframes, thats about 800 pilots after all said and done?....from 2800 pilots on the list now?

To put in perspective, I was hired in 2006. It would put me back to JFK FO. It's wind down only to allow guys to find someplace else to go.

In other news, so glad age 65 is over so all of those guys have someplace to land. </sarcasm>

So...if you believe the company it's vote to furlough 2,000 vs vote to furlough everyone? I find it funny this is still called a tentitive AGREEMENT. That's like saying "the cashier at the store agreed to give the armed robber the contents of the cash register."

Not going to tell anyone how to vote. But whatever happens I hope you all land on your feet...right on the testicles of your management.

Looks like my decision to leave when I did looks better and better.

If I had stayed, I would probably would have ended up getting furloughed.

*I* would have ended up furloughed. Just ran the numbers again. The plan is to start parking the -200s next summer, so AT BEST guys have about 5-6 months on the bottom part of the list to find a chair. Unless the TA has some STELLAR separation language, I'd be voting no on this if I were still there.

I'm going to take back what I said. I am going to influence a vote. I'm just going to point out that for the 2000 or so pilots likely to be furloughed, a yes vote will affect the contracts at whatever airline you decide to work for after this. Expressjet is in negotiations right now and things are basically stalled because the company is waiting to see what happens with pinnacle.

I hope I don't come across as an ass because its easier to say this when you're not the one voting. But full pay to the last day!

Anyone have a current seniority list. I've got to be like 150 from the bottom...what am I doing.

Wow.

If this passes...what an absolute sham of an agreement. What, a year AFTER 9E completed legitimate section 6 negotiations...and then to have the company seeking concessions.

Sick guys.

I can't even say good luck to something like this. Your company is going to be a shell of what you thought it would be. To be shared this information, with regards to what the long term fleet plan really was going to look like - and then left this short time line to really decide.

If I was one of those 2,000 and change to be sent to the street, how do you even vote yes?

One starts to wonder who really is holding the gun to the line pilot's head.

I see this being an absolute failure when it gets to the pilots. And to wonder if anyone of the 2,000+ are going to vote yes to going to the street...

Well considering I was about 130 from the bottom when I left in April, and you were about 30 ahead. I would say you are about 100 or less. My one classmate left (out of 22) is about 80 last I heard a couple months ago. Where do you think the majority of the people are leaving from?
