For the EMB-145 Drivers

Hmmm... Bombardier wouldn't have installed a YD on the Dash, if it didn't do anything. With it off in turbulence, the nose hunts all over the place. Landing the thing in turbulence is like herding cats. You may not feel it from the cockpit, but the passengers in row 9 KNOW. And, the whole rudder trim thing is a normal result of flying a large propeller driven aircraft.

Aight.

Doesn't change the fact that the yd blows on this plane.

I've flown the Dash with the autopilot/yd MEL'd quite a bit and frankly it wasn't any worse than flying with them working. I think that the Dash's YD just doesn't do very much at all.

The YD on the King Air and Citations (sims) I flew was much like the EMB mentioned above. It was very effective and you have to click it off on short final if you want to be able to steer when you get on the ground.

TBM700 is that way too.

Can't talk about the CRJ, but on both the Beech and Saab if you land with YD on, you're gonna have a bad tiiime.
