Good to know...I guess I'm just that shallow. Sorry

yup. This conversation has happened before, but people get treated differently based on looks thats the way it is.
Imagine a C-17 power reversing next to a terminal... You'd suck the skirt off every chick within 50 yards of that window...I know an old dc-9 pilot who said they always pushed back with thrust reversers back in the day, according to him the practice stopped due to windows in terminals getting blown out.... no clue if that's true
Fun times though, we used to do turning powerbacks as well. That would get a little hairy sometimes and I'm always amazed that the captains put so much faith in their rampers. I'm guessing that with the majority of rampers today, that just wouldn't happen.
Ive seen AA do it with a DC9-80 out of LGA.I know an old dc-9 pilot who said they always pushed back with thrust reversers back in the day, according to him the practice stopped due to windows in terminals getting blown out.... no clue if that's true
Why did you have to roll forward a few feet before deploying the reversers?
I think it might be because maybe the ramp is on a slope or perhaps the engines were throttled up a bit with the reversers still not deployed?
Just a guess.
Nothing with systems logic. Just need to get the airplane off the flat spots that develop during loading. Also often times the asphalt begins to sink where the wheels are always parked, so you power forward to get on some flat pavement. Why did you have to roll forward a few feet before deploying the reversers?
Sad to see this all brought up again. Today's news media is not news at all. They are mostly all pompous asses looking to dig at peoples emotions for ratings.
Sounds like Fox News!Sad to see this all brought up again. Today's news media is not news at all. They are mostly all pompous asses looking to dig at peoples emotions for ratings.
Don't start that crap! No one station is at fault. They all do it just as much. Hell, even PBS and NPR are guilty of it at times.Sounds like Fox News!
