PT6 compressor stalls

I *think* it would be open because it's mounted on the side of the engine so gravity won't close or open it and since it would be open at idle at start-up or shutdown.

just curious, at what power setting was this? I also know that on caravans they can compressor stall if you leave the ground heat on, but they shouldnt be stalling at anywhere near cruise power settings.
Please explain how this would cause a stall. I've not heard of this....

Ughhh, I've had a few to drink, and only had this explained to me once, so I apologize. But something to do with the bleed valves being closed with the heat on, and this too much air being forced through the compressor.

Once again, take the explanation with a grain of salt. I'm sure someone can explain it more accurately.

I know there are a LOT of PT6s out there but in the Caravan with everything working correctly (no broken lines, parts, etc) this will not cause a compressor stall. I talking ground operations (idle) going to a takeoff torque setting.

If at idle, you set the bleed air on, the air mixing to ground AND had the cabin/firewall shutoff valve pulled OUT, THEN accelerated for takeoff, you would get a compressor stall. With this Caravan's system, that's about the only way to get it using cabin heat.
