Air Canada pilots get the shaft...

Are you serious? Legislate them back to work? They should all tell the govt where to shove that pile of •.
Oh you're IMPOSING a contract that no one has agreed to? If I'm reading that right they shouldn't even need a union for no one to show up to work the next day.

It looks like the arbitration was agreed upon by both sides. This is a chance you take with binding arbitration.

No, arbitration was forced on them by legislation. They just mutually agreed on who the arbitrator would be after arbitration was forced on them.

This is yet another example of a conservative government screwing over labor. How people can't see this and vote accordingly baffles me.

Ironically, an actual conservative government wouldn't force anyone back to work. While you boys push for more government intervention into corporate affairs, remember that this is what you'll get, and what the rest of us are trying to avoid. Vote accordingly, realizing that the government won't always work toward labor's best interests.

(Sorry, multiple ninja edits).

Cute. Might be the first time I have heard Canada and Conservative Government in the same sentence.

Well, some of us chose to look at life with a wider lens.

What your contract looks like is going to be largely irrelevant in a world where mandatory government spending equals all Federal revenue, a condition predicted to occur in 2025 according to the CBO.

The latest Obama add I saw during Olympics coverage has Our Dear Leader promising more of the same: get the rich to pay their fair share so we can pay down the debt.

BAHAAHAHAHAHAHA!

Kinda hard to pay down a tab that you've added nearly 850 Billion to in the last 8 months.

Just a FYI TallFlyer, when you post a chart from a venture capitalist firm, not going to be taken seriously...

But seriously, this is the direction you guys are pushing toward. Bring in more government, don't be surprised when you get more government. In other words, play stupid games, win stupid prizes! :)

I support a complete repeal of the RLA and related legislation, just to avoid this very thing.

Yep, can't trust those greedy capitalists. I mean, they always just make stuff up. Must be why they're so successful. Who actually needs real data when making wildly successful investment decisions?

Never mind the fact they're using Government Data.

I don't know about a complete repeal, as ATN has in the past demonstrated its utility to both sides of the labor / management dispute.

That said, I absolutely agree with your first premise.

HA! The conservative party of Canada is likely still more liberal than the democratic party in the United States!

If I remember correctly, In Michael Moore's, 'Sicko' a bunch of Conservative Canadians were talking about how they get supplemental health insurance before they visit the States because our system was so screwed up.

Hahahaha. Oh yeah, he's done some great work. You criticize the CBO then quote Micheal Moore?

Well, to be fair he's criticizing the supposed bias that he assumes someone has about CBO data. Because, you know, anyone (or any data) who disagrees with The Dear Leader and his opinion of the world, and all the perfect union contracts he's going to foster must be sick in the head.

What's funny is if someone would actually read some of the accompanying thoughts of the person who created that report would find no mention or criticism of political figures, but a cold hard look at the facts.

But no, we can't have that. It might make people look bad.

I guess I am just used to him being the cheerleader for the The Dear Provider of Roads and Bridges and the Interent.
