Skywest pilot attempts to steal company plane

Of course, because of this one incident, we will now be required to actually remove not just our shoes and belts, but ALL of our clothes in the security theater lines.

What does that have to do with this incident? This was a parked RON aircraft, with no crew on board at a small outstation (at a fairly new airport, at that). He was presumably an employee with ramp access, or there is a gaping security hole on the airport surface. However, I have been to the small non-towered airports that receive EAS service that only have a red line marking where the SIDA is vs. the rest of the airport.

Dang! That's crazy! Hopefully this bizarre situation does not spur the "authorities" to come up with some knee jerk measures that will further restrict activities around airports and flying in the name of "more security."

DAYUM! There be some crazy people out there. Killed his girlfriend and tried to steal an RJ then committed suicide. Just WOW! WOW! CRAZY!

"
After hot-wiring the plane, he allegedly drove the plane into a fence and a parking lot. At that point, he took his own life."

oh really? I'm sure he hot-wired it and not flipped some switch.

New law: airplanes must have keys to start :)

That no one else was injured as a result of the a/c theft, hopefully we won't see any stupid new rules... If innocent people had been involved (other than the property of others being damaged) I'm sure we'd be seeing something.
