Probably. After he told me the pattern was full, I boldly disregarded his instruction, and proceeded to buzz the tower at a blistering speed of 31 knots.

I mean, who wouldn't spill their coffee after witnessing such an event? Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if he peed a little too.

If I was staring down an object the size of a small land mass approaching me at 31 knots and I was all by my lonesome at the top of a VFR control tower, I'd probably pee a little too.

Do y'all have a pisser in the blimp? How long can y'all stay up? Do y'all have two pilots in those things? They cater food/drinks for y'all? Do y'all have special guests flying with you? Who does the TV Feed from the blimp? Is that a guy sitting in the blimp or someone on the ground?

Negative bathroom, bring it with you. Hopefully all you need is a bottle. How long can we stay up, depends on wind, ballasting and what we want to do. The smaller blimps, like MetLife, I've been up as long as 11 hours without fueling, while going from destination to destination. The bigger ship, DirecTV, given the right situation could easily do 30 hours aloft, if you wanted to. We can carry two pilots, but there is only one control station. More often than not, cross country flying is solo. Longest I've done solo is in the neighborhood of 11 hours. I've done a 15.8 with 2 pilots aboard. Negative on catering/food. Bring a cooler that you catered yourself. Special guests, we do take passengers occasionally, most of them are with the Believe In Tomorrow foundation (similar to make-a-wish). The TV coverage is done by a camera man who flies along with us, when so equipped for the camera. They (the camera men), work for another company (various companies do aerial coverage).

Affirmative. I wasn't flying today, I was sitting right seat "babysitting" one of our newer pilots. He has to complete several cross-countries before undergoing our company's line pilot qualification. You heard him on the radio, not me, although I was on board.

Ahh, gotcha. I thought the pilot sounded different. I was in 9004W heading down to DUH. The guy working in the tower is one of the better trainees.. usually he doesn't ask questions, but your guy's answer was perfect.

Ahh, gotcha! Yep I definitely heard you out there. You must be talking about his response to how long our flight would take? A comfortable 8 hours.

On a side note, it's pretty neat how many JC'ers I've unexpectedly encountered while flying these things. Small world indeed.

That was my superstar student, haha. I try to stay off the radio as much as possible while they're learning.

I thought about asking if you were on board, but I couldn't quite figure out a way to phrase it appropriately for the situation.
