Fire in Jersey

my flight from SXM-EWR never left EWR. My backup flight from SXM-DTW was fine, but everything out of ATL was a catastrophe it seemed.

Pure ridiculousness today in JFK, but mostly the ramp and some pilots with a severe lack of SA.

I was just leaving work as this was all starting to unfold. The fire brought down most if not all of the tools TMU uses to monitor the flow, at just about the same time the thunderstorms started moving in. Resulted in quite the night from what i hear.

Thankfully on days off. Actual picture of me as a line of thunderstorms rolled over my house:

We had a 4+ hour EDCT for PHL and then another 3 hour EDCT for the PHL-LGA leg that was to follow. That's kind of normal though.

Thankfully the just dumped the entire day.

My day started w/ a 4 hr delay from DTW-LGA. Then we followed that up with 2 more legs and finally the hotel around 0300. It was a great day, for sure.
Adding to the ACY Tech Center fire, I heard additional delays to LGA were created by a fire there, as well. Haven't gotten any further details on that, however.

So thats the real reason UNICAL cancelled almost every flight out of EWR after 4pm eh?

We had cancellations and delays out of JFK too.

I got a nice lecture from Air France about them not being able to find my captain to inform him of the delay on Saturday.

"You know, not only will I inform the captain of the delay, I'll also make sure he's counseled his irresponsible morning walkabout. *giggle*"

Silly French!

He sounded like the Merovingian from "The Matrix".
Then did you ask him when the Germans started invading again? There is a gate agent in BUF that sounds a little like that. When you are the last flight in for the night he always asks you if you turned the batteries off multiple times. SUPER ANNOYING!

What's he care? Not his job to make sure the batteries are off.

I flew with a flight attendant at Brand X who asked me once if maintenance had been handed the jet as we were deplaning. Me: "I'd imagine so, why do you ask?" Some people just like to be in control, I guess.

My sentiment exactly! It got to a point where I would get peeved...
