Drones: by Judge Andrew Napolitano

The military use of drones for surveillance work within the US borders and not related to any kind of border watch function, is indeed interesting. I know that with the downsizing of overseas operations that there is now and going to be a surplus of drone aircraft and military (active and reserve/guard) drone units, but I wonder what the specific scope of these surveillance activities being proposed is going to be?

My thoughts on this can be summed up in two words: Posse Comitatus.

They could be used in border support operations by ANG units on or near the border, in support of law enforcement; much the same way as the National Guard does with it's ground units. Now, where there is any planning beyond that for any further us outside the scope of that, that's where it runs into a problem.

I agree I am all for drones helping border patrol or law enforcement in certain aspects but if a police officer is using an infrared camera to look in my house to see if I am growing weed, I am going to know because I see a car parked outside of my house, whether its marked or not I can see it. Not that peeing in your yard is illegal but I can go in my back yard and take a leak and no one will ever know until they see the grass growing greener and faster there. There is a fine line being towed here, one of those slippery slopes I'm afraid.

I don't understand. Nepolitano says here that military judges and field commanders can now order raids on the property of civilians inside the US.

What happened to civilian judges and search warrants?

They have no authority anymore under the New World Order.

I have a feeling these might end up getting shot down... and I hope no one mistakes my cessna for one. Most farmers I know have guns. You should see what happens to speeds cameras in rural areas. This is really more like skeet instead of targets.

H.R.1540 "National Defense Authorization Act" (NDAA) happened.

If you read the part about section 1021..... you'll understand. Lol, it was bipartisan by the way.

P.s.

President Obama: "The fact that I support this bill as a whole does not mean I agree with everything in it. In particular, I have signed this bill despite having serious reservations with certain provisions that regulate the detention, interrogation, and prosecution of suspected terrorists."

That includes abroad, and/or domestic Americans ;).
