Any NIFA competitors on these forums?

In the wake of SAFECON's 2012 NIFA Nationals competition, I was wondering if there were any fellow JCers in college that participate with your respective school's flight team. On a side note, has anyone ever heard of anyone with accomplishments on the flight team help them out in getting a job? Just curious.

I competed for 4 years and coached for one. But now that I think about it, I think you're at my alma mater.

SJSU competitor and coach.

We've had people get job offers at nationals occasionally.

The people who were accomplished on the team probably will help me get a job, they are my friends after all.

Yep! competitor from SIU. IDK about getting a job, but my new employer (cessna) was in attendance and several of their reps said they were "impressed"

I was. I miss competition. But I wouldn't hire those guys walking around with their ear buds in and pant legs rolled up. At SAFECON 2009, there were people walking around in Togas.

I know, I found a way to make new friends and contacts for the future, build time in ways other than the same 100$ hamburger every weekend, learn tons of things, and go flying all over the country.

Plenty of things, but I had no idea such a thing existed. I heard someone mention it on another MSG board, and figured it was a joke. How does one become a preflight champion?

Find more squawks than the other person, how does one become a champion at anything?
